Shane Lucas Bailey is our newly acquired talented Australian artist.

His educational background includes a bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Queensland. He has also completed a 2 year Diploma in Digital Media, Visual Art & Design at the exclusive Enmore Design Centre in Sydney.

Shane Lucas is a truly diverse and dynamic artist. His commercial work has brought him commissions and concept art work for such reputable clients as Canon, Porsche, Mattel, Ocean Park, Hong Kong Tatler, and the Hong Kong Government. His drawing and illustrative skills are applied to a variety of works including storyboards, 3D modelling, character design, animation, graphic design and concept Illustrations.

His history as an Art Educator in Australia includes such prestigious Art institutions as AIPAH (Australian International Performing Arts High School) where he was a digital & traditional visual art teacher. Since arriving in Hong Kong Shane Lucas has continued to provide art education through a variety of ways. In his recent role as Creative Strategist he was requested to be the educator for the Milton graduate training program. He is also an experienced child art educator and taught at art education centres in both Hung Hom and Tai Koo.

Shane Lucas finds great fulfilment in working with and educating the artists of the future. Shaping the minds and values of children at the early developmental stages of their life is a deciding factor of the human they will become. Mr. Bailey’s warm humour, kind spirit and well balanced nature have assisted in building and maintaining relationships across all age groups from young children to adults.

In his personal art practice Shane Lucas works with traditional & digital drawing media and paint. Artworks explore conceptual themes influenced by his Buddhist beliefs and practice. His works can be highly contemplative or meditative in production and he wishes the subtle crafting be slowly cognised in the experience of his artwork. Many works are narrative based philosophical viewpoints looking deep into the human condition and experience. The deeper symbolism and communication can reveal subtle teachings of the Dharma and experiences of life. Themes of rebirth, love, compassion, kindness, emptiness and mortality are whispered to the viewer. His work is also influenced by the beauty of the natural environment and indigenous cultures from his travels. In his earlier years Shane lived in Spain, London and Colombia and this appreciation for modernity as well as the native spirit of unique Latino culture can also be seen in some of his works.
